This happened about three nights ago. It may be one of those things that "you had to be there" for it to effect you the same, but here I go anyways. To set the location I will start explaining my house. I live on the top of a (snowy/icy atm) mountain in the middle of nowhere and my house is very old fashioned, and the deck where I go and have cigarettes and tea is located in the back of the house right above the forest. It was about two in the morning and my friend and I were watching a movie while trying to block out the severe, unsettling and continuous screeching of tree's on the windows, also not to mention the hail pounding on the roof. About half way through the movie my friend and I hear a big boom than the power goes out. Were not much of the complaining type so we just lit some candles and started a fire and decided to head out for one last smoke before we cuddled up to fall asleep. We bundled up in a thousand blankets and went out on the deck and sat around a candle and lit up a couple cigarettes. We sat in silence. A few minutes in, I heard a faint noise in the distance, a whistle. It was a melodic tune, sort of like the cell phone jingle from "One missed call", but whistle like (if that makes sense). We both just thought it was our landlord upstairs and shook it off, a minute or so later is happened again but louder, than again and again... Clearer and louder each time. now we were a bit freaked so I got up and inspected to see if it was my landlord, but no-one was there, nor was there anybody or any animals in sight, being a in a secluded area with barley any neighbors. The idea of it being a bird was out of the picture, it being late and all, plus I searched and I was just positive it wasn't a bird, it was to human-like for it to be anything else. (P.s the whistle stopped as I got up and walked towards it). As I sat back down the tune began again, and even louder, I got really spooked to get up and check this time so I got my friend to look around the corner. Nothing. He looked over the edge. Nothing. He looked everywhere. Nothing, but this time the whistle didn't stop when he got up. The worst part of the story happened in a few quick seconds before we both ran in and locked the door. We sat back down and laughed at out selves for being scared (we are not the type to get spooked easy) and finished our smokes. All of the sudden VERY CLEARLY, as if it was sitting there with us, was a little girls laugh, a very stereotypical "little girl playing in a playground" laugh. We both glanced at each-other than ran so fast into the house and locked the door and closed the blinds. The power didn't come on until about four in the morning, but other than that nothing else happened the rest of the night. Glad to say, that was enough for one night.
